The Thirteenth Botanical is a premium Australian gin range by The Farmer’s Wife Distillery, located in the rural village of Allworth, NSW. Produced on a working third-generation farm, the distillery is deeply connected to the land, crafting small-batch spirits that highlight the character of native Australian botanicals. At the heart of the range is its defining element the “Thirteenth Botanical” – rare sugarbag honey, harvested in small quantities from Australian native stingless bees. This distinctive ingredient brings a subtle citrus sweetness and, when distilled in a traditional copper pot still, creates a gin with exceptional softness, balance and depth. Kylie Sepos The Farmer’s Wife Distillery Autumn Dry Gin Tasting Notes On the nose you are greeted with the distinct aroma of juniper softened by the sweet scent of pink grapefruit and a lingering hint of our signature Thirteenth Botanical – native sugarbag honey. When sipped the distinct punchy juniper notes are first and are layered with citrus from the lemon myrtle, zesty kaffir lime and grapefruit. This is quickly followed by a savoury warmth (not heat) to the palate from the cardamom, pepper berry & native sage. The Angelica, orris root and liquorice provide an earthy balanced undertone but it is that gorgeous grapefruit and honey that lingers on the palate and leaves you with the feeling and colours of autumn. Summer Spritz Gin Tasting Notes Bright citrus and soft florals lead on the nose, lifted by a delicate note of native sugarbag honey, our signature Thirteenth Botanical. On the palate, our hallmark gin is enlivened by the addition of fresh Sauvignon Blanc grapes, bringing a clean, vibrant acidity. Citrus notes of lemon and lime are enhanced, creating a fresh, lifted profile. This is balanced by gentle herbal layers of native sage and myrtle, adding structure beneath the brightness. The finish is light and expressive, with subtle florals, honey and a touch of passionfruit, leaving a crisp, refreshing impression. Peach Gin Liqueur Tasting Notes Ripe summer peach leads on the nose, lifted by soft florals and a delicate note of our native sugarbag honey – our signature Thirteenth Botanical. On the palate, generous stone fruit unfolds with juicy peach and subtle citrus, supported by our Autumn Dry Gin base, bringing balance and structure. A gentle warmth from the botanicals sits beneath the fruit, adding depth while allowing the peach to remain vibrant and expressive.
