Sweet Spring Gin:
This party favourite is a little bit sweet, a little bit sour…and perfectly cherrylicious!
45ml Sweet Spring Gin
30ml lemon juice
15ml cherry syrup
2 drops cherry bitters
1/2 egg white
Add gin, lemon juice, cherry syrup and egg white to shaker. Dry shake for 20 seconds.
Add ice, shake til’ chilled. Strain into a tumbler with a large cube of ice. Top with three drops cherry bitters and run through with a tooth pick to create a pattern.
Garnish with cherries through toothpick.
Make at home cherry syrup
Use the cherry syrup straight from the Luxardo Maraschino Cherry jar to make your Cherry Sour. When you are getting low, you can create this simple cherry syrup easily at home. So you’ll never be without your cherry sour!
– 1 cup sugar (we like raw sugar)
– 1 cup water
– 6 maraschino cherries, along with some syrup from jar
1. Stir the water & sugar together in a pan over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Place the cherries & maraschino cherry juice into the water/sugar mixture. Let simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes
2. Strain through a fine sieve into a sterilized jar. Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
